Mikael Sara is turning one! A Winter Wonderland was the theme and a cake, donuts and cookies were the confections. I added various colours of blue to decorate the snowflake shaped cookies. The donuts were a light shade of blue and simple sprinkles. The cake, a chocolate cake filled with cream and frosted with buttercream tinted a blue green topped with a fondant penguin.
Had the pleasure of making Jessika & Simon’s Wedding cake and sweet confections. Congratulations to the couple!
Wanted to share some photos of some sweets that I made for a bridal shower this weekend. The popular Kate Spade was the theme. So of course it was all about polka dots, stripes, flowers and a hint of hot pink….and of course CaKe!
A new twist on an old favorite cookie. Ummm the combination sounded great to me. I have apple slices dipped in peanut butter and it tastes great, so I thought, why not a little apple pie with a little peanut butter cookie? Peanut butter? homemade apple pie? Yup! I am going to try it! I have to say, I quickly gobbled one up almost right out of the oven, oh my! Soooo good. This will definitely be a new item for Village Sweets cookie list.

The weather has certainly been a downer here. Our winter has been, well to put it midly SUCKY! When the sun is out, it’s the darn deep freeze, when the temperatures are reasonable, it’s rain and ice, the damp makes you grumpy and you swear for dear life that you make it down your driveway (aka ice rink) safely. Oh well, as I wait for a brighter day I am going to bake! So this week at Village Sweets, cookies are what have been coming out of the oven. Hurray! The show is finally over! What a long few months it has been. Fruitcakes were sold, Bailey’s Fudge, Delicious Cookies and so much more. We have some Fruitcakes and a few cookies and candy items left…if you have no time and need a decadent holiday gift, let us know, our holiday home baked goods come gift wrapped too!
Village Sweets will be taking part in this event Saturday December 14th and Sunday December 15th, 2013. Opening hours are from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for both days, entry is FREE. With the holidays already upon us, mark this weekend on your calendars to come and visit the show, if you are looking for special and unique gifts make sure to stop by Village Sweets table, taste testing will be available for our Delicious Fruitcakes and other delights, which will be packaged in a beautiful Holiday box for gift giving.
